They say that people come into your life for a season. Some encounters result in an everlasting bond of friendship and partnership. Other encounters are temporary so that they can teach you different things about yourself and others, good and bad.

I know that we didn’t get to the everlasting part in our friendship but I want to thank you for the impact that you’ve had on my life.

Thank you for teaching me that it is possible to have an easy flowing, easy going friendship without any jealousy or bitterness. It didn’t have to be forced or rushed, it just flowed. Thank you for showing me it can be possible.

Thank you for teaching me that I could be loved in all of my awkwardness, my shyness, and my weirdness. Thank you for matching my creativity and celebrating it. Thank you for letting me be me.

Thank you for teaching me that I could learn from young people as well as seasoned people. Thank you for your mindfulness. I’ve learned to see other perspectives and viewpoints beyond my own. Thank you for challenging me to think differently. Thank you for teaching me how to communicate my feelings. I am very late and very slow in communicating my feelings. I overanalyze, I overthink, and I under react. I am still a work in progress in that area but thank you for helping me realize it.

I don’t know if this is the end forever but if it is, thank you for all that you’ve shown me. Thank you for the growth. I hope you find what you’re searching for in this life.
